Central Government Orders Increased Supervision of Local Implementation of New Regulations Regarding Land Acquisition and Demolition

Yesterday, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Ministry of Supervision issued a notice requiring local discipline inspection and supervision departments at all levels to strengthen supervision and inspection of the implementation of land acquisition policy in order to halt and rectify any illegal acquisition of land or acts of demolition. The announcement follows the release of amended regulations regarding the acquisition of land that was released by the central government in January this year and calls on local authorities to ensure that these new regulations are being adhered to.
