Foreign Tourists in Hainan to Enjoy a Tax Rebate

As of January 1, 2011, foreign travelers to Hainan Province who have made purchases above 800 yuan in designated tourist shops will receive a value added tax (VAT) rebate. So far, it's unclear when this policy will cover Chinese residents.
