China's Water and Soil Conservation Law Under Discussion

Yesterday, the 18th Conference of the 11th NPC Standing Committee reviewed a draft amendment to China's Water and Soil Conservation Law. According to a committee member, Clause 32 of the draft amendment attracted the most attention and discussion; the clause states that once compensation fees are paid, construction can take place in areas that are more likely to see water loss and soil erosion.
